Preheat your oven to its highest setting (220–250°C / 425–475°F) and place a tray or stone inside to heat.
Stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a thin round.
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the base, leaving a small border at the edges.
Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over the top.
Drizzle a little olive oil, and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
Carefully transfer the pizza to the hot tray/stone and bake for 10–15 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Top with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.
